Mental Health Therapist - Mobile Crisis Response Team

Presbyterian Medical Services (PMS) is seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapists to join our Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT).

In this dynamic and rewarding role, you will provide immediate, on-site behavioral health crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, and emotional distress crises throughout the community.

Working closely with first responders, healthcare providers, families, and community partners, you will help stabilize situations, connect individuals to appropriate services, and support recovery through compassionate, trauma-informed care.

This opportunity is open to both experienced independently licensed clinicians and non-independently licensed clinicians seeking professional growth through clinical supervision and mentorship.

Qualifications

What You'll Do

• Respond directly to behavioral health crises in community settings.
• Conduct mental health assessments and evaluate risk to determine immediate needs.
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, emotional support, and stabilization services.
• Develop safety plans and connect individuals to appropriate levels of care and community resources.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, healthcare providers, and community partners.
• Support individuals and families experiencing mental health, substance use, or emotional crises.
• Document services accurately and maintain timely clinical records.
• Participate in on-call crisis response rotations and ongoing team collaboration.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
• Current New Mexico licensure as a mental health professional, including LPC, LMHC, LAMFT, LMSW, LPCC, LISW, LCSW, LMFT, LPAT, LCP, or other qualifying licensure.
• Two years of experience working with individuals in crisis, behavioral health, substance use treatment, or emergency services.
• Strong assessment, crisis intervention, and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to respond throughout the service area.
• Must reside in the county where Mobile Crisis Response Team services are provided.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing mobile crisis, emergency behavioral health, or community-based services.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis de-escalation techniques.
• Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Navajo skills.
• Experience collaborating with first responders, hospitals, or community agencies.
