Job Description

Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is looking to add a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to our team. Patient care will have an emphasis on chronic health issues. Duties include, but are not limited to: Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures Assists Medical staff in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs Recognizes abnormal findings and treats or refers to physician for further evaluation and/or treatment Provides education to patients and families Prepares comprehensive patient care plan with physician and other health professionals Prescribes or recommends medications Determine if a referral is needed to specialty services or ancillary services The Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is a non-profit organization and not federal employment. Qualifications Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position. Must align with OKCIC vision, mission and core values Must be a graduate of a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program, as applicable Must possess a clear unencumbered Oklahoma PA or N license in good standing with the Oklahoma Medical Board Must possess a clear DEA and OBNDD registration Board certified, or documentation of eligibility if in the process of obtaining board certification 2 or more years of experience in public health, community health or outpatient setting required
Key Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and develop comprehensive care plans for patients with chronic health issues. They will also provide patient education, prescribe medications, and determine the necessity for specialty referrals.
Requirements
Candidates must be graduates of a nationally certified program and possess a clear, unencumbered Oklahoma license with DEA and OBNDD registration. A minimum of two years of experience in public health, community health, or an outpatient setting is required.
