Position Summary

Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join our Behavioral Health team in beautiful Tampa, Florida.

This role provides an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents through comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning.

You will work alongside primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver individualized, evidence-based care in an integrated healthcare environment.

Essential Responsibilities

* Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for children and adolescents.

* Diagnose and manage emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric disorders.

* Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

* Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring effectiveness and potential side effects.

* Coordinate care with primary care physicians and other behavioral health professionals.

* Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and medication management.

* Order and review appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.

* Facilitate referrals for additional testing, specialty services, and follow-up care.

* Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record.

* Participate in peer review, quality improvement initiatives, and efforts to close patient care gaps.

* Support clinical education through periodic teaching and supervision of residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

* Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.

* Completion of a General Psychiatry residency.

* Completion of a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship.

* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

* Current, valid Florida medical license.

* Current DEA registration.

* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

* Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges, if required.
