Position Summary

Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Endocrinologist to join our growing Specialty Services team in Tampa, Florida.

This full-time position provides comprehensive, patient-centered, evidence-based specialty care for patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders in an FQHC setting. The Endocrinologist will collaborate closely with primary care providers and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to improve clinical outcomes, expand access to specialty services, and provide coordinated care for a culturally diverse patient population.

The physician will evaluate and manage a broad range of endocrine and metabolic conditions, including:

  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Thyroid disorders
  • Obesity and metabolic conditions
  • Osteoporosis
  • Metabolic bone disease
  • Adrenal disorders
  • Pituitary disorders
  • Other endocrine conditions

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of endocrine and metabolic disorders
  • Diagnose and manage patients with diabetes, thyroid disease, obesity, osteoporosis, metabolic bone disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, and other endocrine conditions
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists regarding the diagnosis and management of complex endocrine and metabolic conditions
  • Develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
  • Provide ongoing disease monitoring and medication management
  • Educate and counsel patients regarding disease management, medications, nutrition, lifestyle modification, and preventive care
  • Coordinate patient care with nursing, pharmacy, behavioral health, nutrition, care management, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete electronic health record documentation
  • Participate in peer review, quality improvement, accreditation readiness, and other clinical initiatives
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and education to residents, medical students, Advanced Practice Providers, and other healthcare professionals as applicable
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support high-quality care consistent with HRSA, HEDIS, and UDS standards
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state laws, accreditation standards, and organizational policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology
  • Completion of appropriate fellowship training in Endocrinology
  • Current or ability to obtain a Florida medical license by the time of employment
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
  • DEA registration, NPI, and appropriate prescriptive authority
  • Experience managing endocrine and metabolic disorders in an outpatient setting
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive, patient-centered care
