Job description

UPMC Western Behavioral Health is excited to welcome a Behavioral Health Therapist Associate to our Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services team! This team includes the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Pediatric OCD Clinic.
In this clinical and administrative role, you will coordinate referrals, clinical evaluations, admissions, and program enrollment to ensure timely access to care. You will collaborate with patients, families, providers, schools, and community partners to support treatment planning, care coordination, and smooth transitions between services. Responsibilities include participating in treatment team meetings, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and managing referral and admission processes. You will also monitor program capacity, maintain tracking systems and reports, and support outreach efforts to strengthen referral partnerships and increase awareness of services.

Key Information:
Schedule: Monday- Friday, Daylight & Evening hours.
No weekend, holiday or on-call work required.
Location: (4) Days per week will be in Wexford (Perry Highway), (1) Day per week will be in Southside (Hot Metal Bridge)
Parking: Free on-site paring in Wexford. Lot, Meter & Garage parking options in the Southside
Dress Code: Business Casual.
MUST attach bachelors level transcripts for consideration.

Responsibilities

Conduct outreach, engage prospective clients, and address barriers to participation and ongoing treatment. Complete intake assessments, screenings, data collection, and documentation to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and continuity of care under clinical supervision. Provide individual and group therapeutic services, recover education, and family engagement while monitoring patient progress and changing needs. Collaborate with treatment teams, community providers, and support services to coordinate care, referrals, and appropriate levels of treatment. Maintain accurate, timely clinical records, secure service authorizations, and participate in quality improvement and program performance initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.
Completion of a human services related internship/practicum OR 1 year of relevant human services experience.
Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process preferred.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field and have completed a relevant internship or one year of human services experience. Additionally, applicants must possess specific clearances and certifications, including CPR and CCMC, and provide academic transcripts.
