Interventional Radiology Technologist

Job Summary

Under supervision, performs a variety of complex radiology examinations, imaging
procedures/treatment, interventional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
within the interventional radiology, cardiac cath lab, or electrophysiology lab
areas according to radiology practice standards. Also assists in the diagnosis
and/or treatment of disease. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides-on call
and callback coverage as required.

• Completes documentation as required to comply with policies and procedures.

• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat

• Participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure

• Completes assigned goals.

Minimum Required Experience

Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program.

Preferred/Desired Experience

Minimum of 1 year as a radiology technologist. 6 months experience in IR/Cath
lab/EP.

Minimum Required Education

Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a
mechanism acceptable to ARRT.

Minimum Required Special Skills

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes
the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments
as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Demonstrates ability to receive
and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work

Minimum Required Licensure

Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry
in Radiography ARRT (R).; BLS Certification within 14 days of hire; New graduate
will obtain required registry within 120 days as required;. State license as
required

Preferred/Desired Licensure

Registry in Vascular Interventional ARRT(VI)
