Radiology Technologist

Job Summary

Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as

prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in

order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease.

Responsibilities

* Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method

as requested by a licensed physician.

* Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.

* Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.

* Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital

protocols/guidelines.

* Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and

procedures.

* Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and

safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.

* Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities

to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.

Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.

* Completes assigned goals.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience

Minimum Required

* Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology

Program.

Preferred/Desired

Education

Minimum Required

* Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a

mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic

Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R) or new graduate

who is waiting to take the registry.

* Associates degree in related field

* Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory.

Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal

procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.

* Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions;

ability to plan and organize work.

Licensure

Minimum Required

* ARRT(R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire. New graduate who will

obtain required registry within 120 days of hire. State license as required.
