Key Responsibilities
The Respiratory Therapist performs patient assessments, administers various respiratory therapies, and manages life-support equipment including mechanical ventilators. They also participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, assist with intubations, and maintain accurate medical documentation.
Requirements
Candidates must be credentialed as a certified or registered respiratory therapist by the NBRC and hold an active license in the State of Iowa. BLS certification is required within three months of hire, and Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six months.
