Shift Requirements
- Clinic: Two 8-hour shifts (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Hospital: Two 12-hour midwifery shifts (either 7:30 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM), totaling 40 hours weekly
Key Responsibilities
- Hospital duties include attending deliveries, performing 1st and 2nd degree vaginal repairs, and co-managing high-risk obstetrics cases (e. g., hypertension and diabetes).
- Manage labor in collaboration with obstetric physicians and facilitate medication administration, triage, and board management.
On-call Expectations
No on-call responsibilities
Patient Volume and Census
- Clinic: Approximately 20-22 patients per day
- Hospital: Variable patient load based on delivery rates

Required and Accepted Certifications
- Board Certification in Nurse Midwifery
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
State Licensure Requirements
- Active California CNM license required

- Certified Nurse Midwife (in CA)
- Current California Registered Nurse License
- AMCB CNM National Certification
- California Nurse Midwife Furnishing Certification
- Preferred: 3 years of recent CNM experience;
Minimum: 1 year of current practice
