Key Responsibilities

The orthopedic hand surgeon is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating musculoskeletal conditions of the hand, wrist, and forearm. This includes performing surgical procedures, managing trauma, and collaborating with therapists to ensure optimal patient recovery.

Requirements

Candidates must have graduated from an accredited medical school, completed a 5-year orthopedic residency, and a 1-year hand and upper extremity fellowship. A valid California medical license and board certification in orthopedic surgery with a subspecialty in hand surgery are required.
