Job Description

Description. This on-site, contract position is ideal for an associate-level physician looking to deliver high-quality inpatient care in a dynamic medical practice environment.

As a Locum Hospitalist, you will play a critical role in managing patient care, coordinating treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Your work will directly impact patient outcomes and the efficiency of our hospital operations, while offering flexibility and professional growth within the medical practice industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients
  • Perform patient admissions, evaluations, and daily rounds
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures
  • Coordinate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Document patient medical histories, progress notes, and discharge summaries
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and urgent patient needs
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and case reviews
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records
  • Provide coverage according to the contracted schedule, including nights and weekends as required

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Hospital Medicine
  • Associate-level experience as a hospitalist or in an acute care setting
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site hospital environment
  • Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based medical practice
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification
  • Legal authorization to work in the relevant location
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing patient volumes and scheduling needs

Schedule: Night shifts

120 beds

Patient Volume: 18-20 per day

Strong clinical support

EMR: Meditech

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & lodging

A-rated medical malpractice
