The sonographer prepares patients for examinations, performs ultrasound studies, and evaluates clinical history to determine appropriate procedures. They are also responsible for maintaining equipment, documenting scan logs, and providing training to students and personnel.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved ultrasound training program or two years of relevant experience. Professional certification such as RDMS, RVT, or RVS is required upon hire.
