Key Responsibilities
The Hereditary Cancer Genetic Counselor evaluates personal and family medical histories to assess cancer risk and provides pre- and post-test counseling to patients. They collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care and communicate complex genetic information to patients and providers.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Genetic Counseling or a related field from an accredited program. Board certification by the ABGC is preferred, or must be obtained within two years of the hire date.
