Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include performing preliminary patient assessments, obtaining histories, and facilitating preoperative procedures, including assisting the attending surgeon as a first or second assistant in the operating room. The role also involves teaching fundamental operating room techniques and acting as a consultant for surgical protocols and patient care as directed by the supervising physician.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Florida Physician Assistant license and current CPR certification, with certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistants required. An Associate degree is the minimum education, though a Bachelor's degree in the area of expertise is preferred, and prior Physician Assistant experience is also preferred.
