Position Overview

Shawnee Health is seeking a passionate and skilled Pediatric Dentist to join our team at our brand-new, state-of-the-art Children’s Dental Center in Marion, Illinois. Designed specifically for children, this modern facility will feature advanced dental technology, in-office general anesthesia capabilities, and a warm, welcoming environment to ensure the best possible experience for our young patients.

Providing the selected dentist the opportunity to step into a fully operational, high-demand practice from day one. As part of our mission-driven organization, you will play a key role in delivering compassionate, comprehensive care to children throughout southern Illinois, including those from underserved and rural communities.

Responsibilities

· Provide comprehensive pediatric dental care, including exams, preventive services, and restorative care.

· Full-mouth rehabilitation under general anesthesia.

· Develop personalized treatment plans and educate parents/guardians to ensure positive dental experiences.

· Utilize advanced behavior management techniques to effectively treat young or special needs patients.

· Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols.

· Collaborate with our multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.

· Participate in oral health promotion, education, and prevention programs in the community.

· Mentor and train dental students as appropriate.

· Engage in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Education & Training

· DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.

· Completion of a CODA-accredited Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program.

· Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Dentistry.

· Valid Illinois dental license and CPR certification.

· Familiarity with electronic dental records and imaging software.

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Standard Benefits for Physicians, Dentists, and Midlevel Practitioners

· Shawnee Health offers 280 hours for full-time practitioners for each full fiscal year of employment for vacations, holidays, sick leave, continuing education or other absences from practice. At the end of any employment year, a portion of unused Leave days may be carried forward to the next year or you may opt to take the cash value of the unused Leave days.

· Productivity Incentives: Shawnee offers physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners’ merit and productivity incentives based negotiated contractual terms related to net collections and/or total encounters.

· Merit Bonus: Shawnee offers physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners’ productivity incentives based on negotiated criteria.

· Continuing Education (CE) Allocation: physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners receive an annual CE allocation.

Base Compensation

Pay Range: $275,000 – $300,000

The listed salary range reflects average compensation based on experience. Candidates with exceptional qualifications or experience are encouraged to apply, as compensation may be adjusted accordingly.
