Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Ob/Gyn

Description

This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide comprehensive women's healthcare services in a supportive and patient-focused environment.

As a Locum Ob/Gyn Physician, you will deliver high-quality obstetric and gynecological care, including prenatal care, deliveries, surgical procedures, and routine well-woman exams. You will work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients while maintaining accurate and timely medical records.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care to patients
• Perform prenatal care, deliveries, and postpartum follow-up
• Conduct routine well-woman exams, including Pap smears and breast exams
• Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions and disorders
• Perform surgical procedures related to obstetrics and gynecology
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as ultrasounds and lab work
• Counsel patients on family planning, contraception, and menopause management
• Collaborate with nurses, midwives, and other healthcare staff
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulations
• Participate in on-call rotations and emergency coverage as needed
• Stay current with advancements in obstetric and gynecological medicine
• Ensure a compassionate and culturally sensitive approach to patient care

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Mount Airy
• Associate-level experience in obstetrics and gynecology
• Proficiency in performing obstetric and gynecological procedures
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
• Willingness to work on-site and participate in on-call schedules
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Preferred: Experience in locum tenens or contract-based medical practice

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, 7 on/7 off

Annual Volume: 350 deliveries

Coverage for the ED and OB unit

Must be board-certified
