West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Cardiology seek a fellowship-trained Medical Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) to join our rapidly growing, academic, state-of-the-art, employed faculty.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will have primary practice sites in Wheeling, WV as well as the Morgantown, WV campus. This position is structured as a 50/50 split between Wheeling and Morgantown, ensuring integration with the academic medical center while maintaining a strong presence in the Wheeling community. The selected physician will participate in a rotation with current electrophysiologists in Morgantown to maintain this balance.
Duties
- Provide exceptional patient care in the field of cardiac electrophysiology.
- Actively participate in the teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and eligibility for a state medical license.
- ABIM Electrophysiology Board Certification or Eligibility required.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

WVU Cardiac Electrophysiology is currently comprised of five full-time faculty, supported by dedicated staff including five APPs, four RNs, and six remote CIED monitoring personnel. Our service portfolio and equipment are state-of-the-art, and we are supported by cardiac anesthesia, surgery, imaging, and a large general cardiology fellowship program. An Electrophysiology fellowship program will launch in July 2025. Call is uniquely non-intrusive.
