Key Responsibilities
The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric, including setting up, monitoring, and weaning oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation. This role also involves drawing, analyzing, and reporting Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs, delivering intermittent therapy, and assisting with artificial airways as ordered by a physician.
Requirements
Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's preferred) and have no prior work experience required, but must hold a current state Respiratory Therapist License and certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Essential requirements include Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days of hire, along with strong computer and communication skills.
