As a Home Health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

* Perform under the direction and supervision of the treating occupational therapist and in accordance with the plan of care.
* Assist the treating occupational therapist in documenting a patient's progress and response to treatment.
* Teach task-oriented therapeutic activities designed to restore physical and sensory-integrative function.
* Communicate with the supervising occupational therapist, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team providing care to the patient in order to promote coordination of care.
* Visually and aurally observe and assess the patient.
* Participate in quality and performance improvement measures.

A few must-haves for Home Health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA)

* Current licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA) in the start of Arizona.
* Minimum of two (2) years of certified occupational therapy assistant experience, ideally in home healthcare
* CPR Certification (demonstration course required)
* Valid Arizona Fingerprint Card
* Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
* Good clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, resourceful and compassionate

Key Responsibilities

The COTA will perform therapeutic activities under the direction of an occupational therapist to restore patient function and assist in documenting patient progress. They will also communicate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated care and observe patient responses to treatment.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Arizona COTA license, a valid Arizona Fingerprint Card, and CPR certification. A minimum of two years of experience in occupational therapy, preferably in home health, is required.
