Job Description
Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our collaborative Hospital Medicine team at Unity Hospital. Whether you're an experienced provider or a highly motivated new graduate, you'll have the opportunity to care for a diverse inpatient population while working alongside supportive physicians and advanced practice providers committed to exceptional patient care.

- SCHEDULE: Day/Evening/Night Rotating 12 Hour Shifts

Responsibilities
Diagnosis. Assess and diagnose acute illnesses and minor injuries; perform physicals and implement treatment plan; monitor response for acute and chronic medical conditions; select and order appropriate diagnostic and health maintenance procedures
Treatment. Prescribe medication, perform minor procedures and coordinate treatment; provide health education and guidance regarding treatment; communicate with, and counsel family members; recommend community resources and refer patients to collaborating physician or specialist
Administrative Assistance. Perform administrative responsibilities such as updating patient charts, billing codes and completing required documents from outside agencies

Licenses / Certifications
PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant - National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), RPA - Registered Physician Assistant - NYS Office of Professions
Physical Requirements
Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning.
Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns.
Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.

Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Assistant studies and possess current PA-C and RPA certifications. Previous inpatient hospital medicine experience is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
