Key Responsibilities
The optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams, diagnose sight problems and eye diseases, and prescribe appropriate treatments such as eyeglasses, contact lenses, or medications. They are also responsible for building long-term patient relationships through education and providing pre- and postoperative care for surgical patients.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution. Additionally, they are required to have passed all optometric state boards.
