Key Responsibilities
The Social Worker will assess the psychosocial status of patients and families related to terminal illness, providing counseling, crisis intervention, and education on coping difficulties and environmental needs. Responsibilities also include participating in the individualized plan of care, assisting the team with psychosocial factors related to death/dying, and helping with funeral and legal arrangements.
Requirements
Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university, although a Bachelor's degree in Social Work makes one eligible to apply with pay adjusted accordingly. A minimum of two years of documented supervised experience in healthcare, preferably hospice, is required, along with an understanding of hospice philosophy and death/dying issues.
