Job Description
Company Description
Milu Health is a digital healthcare provider that exists to identify and resolve major medical issues for its patients proactively, by leveraging real-time clinical data and AI. Milu's provider team of pharmacists and nurses helps patients through medication review and reconciliation, care gap identification and closure, and finding other ways to help patients get access to high quality, affordably priced care when they need it.
Our founding team has spent the last combined 10 years building data-based healthcare businesses. Milu is backed by leading investors including a16z, Box Group, Pags Group, 81 Collection, Starting Line VC, Hypothesis Ventures, and others.
The Role
We are seeking a high-caliber Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) to serve as a cornerstone of our clinical operations. This is a pivotal role within a high-growth, virtual-first health technology startup.
The ideal candidate will combine advanced clinical expertise in metabolic health with the operational agility required to build and refine scalable care protocols. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient outcomes while contributing to the strategic architecture of our clinical delivery model.
Core Responsibilities
- Advanced Clinical Consultation: Deliver evidence-based, virtual nutritional therapy and diabetes self-management education (DSMES) to a diverse patient population (Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational Diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, and more across various demographics and social determinants of health)
- Protocol Development: Design, implement, and iterate on clinical workflows and standardized care protocols to ensure high-quality, reproducible patient outcomes during rapid organizational scaling.
- Data-Driven Care: Utilize remote patient monitoring (RPM) tools and analytics to provide proactive, precision-based interventions.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Act as a clinical subject matter expert for our Product and Engineering teams, ensuring our platform’s evolution aligns with gold-standard clinical guidelines.
- Patient Advocacy & Retention: Employ advanced motivational interviewing and behavioral change frameworks to foster long-term patient engagement and adherence in a remote setting.
Candidate Requirements
Licensure: Active Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) status; CDCES certification strongly preferred.
Experience: 4+ years of clinical experience, with a proven track record in chronic disease management or endocrinology.
Environment: Prior experience in telehealth or a venture-backed startup is highly advantageous.
Technical Proficiency: High aptitude for EHR management, data visualization tools, and collaborative software (e. g., Slack, G-Suite).
Communication: Sophisticated verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate complex clinical data into digestible patient insights.
Professional Attributes
- Operational Excellence: You possess a natural inclination toward process improvement and can thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Clinical Sophistication: You maintain a rigorous commitment to ADA and ADCES standards while remaining adaptable to the nuances of virtual care delivery.
- Cultural Competence: You are skilled in navigating the social determinants of health (SDoH) and tailoring care plans for a wide range of patient demographics.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Rather than identifying roadblocks, you present data-backed solutions that align with both clinical integrity and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves delivering evidence-based nutritional therapy and diabetes education while designing clinical workflows to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. You will also act as a subject matter expert for product teams and utilize remote monitoring tools to provide proactive, data-driven interventions.
Requirements
