Job Description

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative Hospital Medicine team at Unity Hospital. Whether you're an experienced provider or a highly motivated new graduate, you'll have the opportunity to care for a diverse inpatient population while working alongside supportive physicians and advanced practice providers committed to exceptional patient care.

  • SCHEDULE: Day/Evening/Night Rotating 12 Hour Shifts

Responsibilities

Diagnosis. Assess and diagnose acute illnesses and minor injuries; perform physicals and implement treatment plan; monitor response for acute and chronic medical conditions; select and order appropriate diagnostic and health maintenance procedures

Treatment. Prescribe medication, perform minor procedures and coordinate treatment; provide health education and guidance regarding treatment; communicate with, and counsel family members; recommend community resources and refer patients to collaborating physician or specialist

Administrative Assistance. Perform administrative responsibilities such as updating patient charts, billing codes and completing required documents from outside agencies

MS: Nursing (Required)

Licenses / Certifications

NP - Nurse Practitioner Certification - NYS Office of Professions, RN - Registered Nurse - NYS Office of Professions

Physical Requirements

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning.

Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns.

Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master of Science in Nursing and possess active New York State Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse certifications. Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment are required.
