Locum CNM (Certified Nurse Midwife) Ob/Gyn

Description. This on-site, contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide comprehensive midwifery care in a supportive and patient-centered environment.

As a Locum CNM in our Obstetrics and Gynecology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to women across the community. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care for every patient.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to patients
• Perform routine gynecological examinations and screenings
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for expectant mothers
• Monitor fetal development and maternal health throughout pregnancy
• Assist with labor and delivery, including natural and assisted births
• Collaborate with obstetricians and other healthcare providers on complex cases
• Educate patients on prenatal health, nutrition, and postpartum care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Respond to emergency situations during labor and delivery as needed
• Provide family planning and reproductive health counseling
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulations
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure
• Associate-level experience in midwifery or a related nursing field
• Graduation from an accredited nurse-midwifery education program
• Strong knowledge of obstetrical and gynecological care standards
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities with patients and teams
• Ability to work on-site in Roanoke Rapids and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care
• Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize care in a contract assignment setting
