Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner), PA (Physician's Assistant) Cardiothoracic Surgery

This contract position will be on-site, offering a valuable experience in a fast-paced medical environment.

As a Locum NP or PA, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our esteemed cardiothoracic surgical team. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring successful outcomes for patients undergoing procedures in this specialized field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients
• Assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures and post-operative care
• Collaborate with surgeons and medical professionals for optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
• Provide crucial support during pre-operative evaluations
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care

Requirements

• Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related fields preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Commitment to providing patient-centered care
• Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Schedule: 12, 13, or 24-hour shifts

Daily Census: 3-6 patients + consults

16-bed ICU

APP is only responsible for surgical aspects of ICU

Skills Needed: ECMO, ventricular support, central and arterial lines, catheter insertion/removal

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
