Full time Shift: Day (United States of America) Facility: 2900 Lamb Cir - Christiansburg Requisition Number: R141508 APP ( NP or PA) - Specialty Practice - Cardiology NRV (Open) How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare: Carilion Clinic is seeking a motivated and collaborative Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Carilion Cardiology team serving the New River Valley region. This APP will work closely with cardiologists and multidisciplinary care teams to provide high-quality cardiovascular care across outpatient and/or inpatient settings. The ideal candidate is patient-centered, clinically strong, and committed to delivering compassionate cardiovascular care while supporting Carilion Clinic’s mission of improving the health of the communities we serve. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including history and physical examinations Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions under physician collaboration Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing results Provide patient and family education regarding cardiac disease prevention and management Participate in inpatient rounding, outpatient clinic visits, and follow-up care as assigned Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure continuity of care Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Benefits Competitive compensation package Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement savings plan with employer match Paid time off and CME allowance Professional development opportunities Supportive team environment within a leading regional healthcare system About the New River Valley The New River Valley offers an exceptional quality of life with access to outdoor recreation, vibrant college-town culture, excellent schools, and a welcoming community atmosphere. Located in Southwest Virginia, the region combines scenic mountain living with convenient access to urban amenities. What We Require: Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience: 0
Licensure/Certification: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP), DEA license and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure or Physician Assistant ( PA) required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred. Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
Other: Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers, good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
Compensation Range:
$107,993.60 - $172,785.60
Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program and hold current state licensure. Required certifications include AHA BLS-HCP, with additional requirements for DEA licensure and eligibility for prescriptive authority.
