Night Shift Hospitalist

ACUTE CARE NURSE PRACTITIONER OPENING

Texas Health Physicians Group is pleased to announce a Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist opening for a full-time opportunity on the campus of Texas Health HEB. Expand your career by working closely with a successful group of hospitalists evaluating, diagnosing and treating a variety of patients.

Position Details

Ø Assist Hospitalists with inpatient evaluations, H&P’s & follow-up visits.

Ø Initiate appropriate treatment & testing for medical illnesses.

Ø Complete history and physical examinations on all new admissions

Ø Round on rehabilitation patients including long term acute care patients

Ø Document using EMR system.

Ø Participate in continuous quality improvement processes.

Ø Enjoy working night shift, 7PM to 7AM, 7 ON, 7 OFF

Ø Active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, effective communication, time management, judgement and decision making

Ø Texas licensed Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Ø ACLS certification

Ø 2 years of NP or RN experience in ICU/CVICU required.

1 Year As a Nurse or Nurse Practitioner. Pref

Key Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner will assist hospitalists with inpatient evaluations, history and physical examinations, and follow-up visits. Responsibilities include initiating treatment for medical illnesses and rounding on rehabilitation and long-term acute care patients.

Requirements

Candidates must be a Texas licensed Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with a Master's degree and ACLS certification. A minimum of 2 years of NP or RN experience in ICU/CVICU is required.
