Quinault Community Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our Quick Care/Urgent Care team in Aberdeen, Washington. This is an opportunity to practice meaningful, patient-centered medicine while serving a diverse community in a collaborative healthcare environment.
As a Nurse Practitioner in Quick Care, you will provide timely, high-quality care to patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and same-day healthcare needs.
You will use your clinical expertise and independent judgment to assess, diagnose, and treat patients while working closely with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of the care team.
What You’ll Do Provide comprehensive same-day evaluation and treatment for acute illnesses, injuries, and other urgent healthcare needs. Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, and develop individualized treatment plans.
Diagnose and manage conditions within your scope of practice, training, and competency. Order, perform, and interpret appropriate laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic studies. Prescribe medications and treatments consistent with applicable requirements, clinical guidelines, and organizational policies.
Perform clinical procedures appropriate to your training, competency, and scope of practice. Recognize changes in condition, clinical deterioration, and situations requiring emergency intervention or a higher level of care.
Determine appropriate patient disposition, including treatment and discharge, follow-up, specialty referral, emergency department referral, or transfer. Provide patients and families with clear education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, self-management, follow-up, and return precautions.
Deliver compassionate, respectful, culturally responsive care to patients from diverse backgrounds. Consider cultural, social, economic, and other factors that may influence a patient's health, access to care, treatment, and outcomes.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to promote safe, coordinated care. Support efficient patient flow and contribute to a positive Quick Care/Urgent Care environment.
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation, with required clinical documentation completed within 96 hours of the patient encounter. Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, clinical initiatives, staff meetings, training, and other organizational activities.

Qualifications
Required Current, unrestricted Washington State Nurse Practitioner license in good standing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers. Current, unrestricted DEA registration appropriate to the position and scope of practice.
Knowledge of assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute illnesses, injuries, and common medical conditions encountered in a Quick Care/Urgent Care setting. Knowledge of pharmacology, medication indications, contraindications, interactions, dosing, and safe prescribing practices.
Knowledge of evidence-based primary and urgent care practices, clinical guidelines, and standards of care. Ability to recognize patients requiring emergency intervention, higher levels of care, or specialty referral.
Ability to order and appropriately interpret or follow up on diagnostic testing within scope of practice. Knowledge of infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and protection of protected health information. Proficiency with electronic health records and healthcare-related computer applications.
Ability to perform or assist with clinical procedures appropriate to training, competency, and scope of practice. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, healthcare providers, and multidisciplinary team members. Ability to provide compassionate, respectful, and culturally responsive care to patients from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care, teamwork, professionalism, and service excellence. Preferred 1–3 years of Nurse Practitioner experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, or a comparable clinical setting. Experience evaluating and treating a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries.
Experience performing common urgent care procedures. Bilingual or multilingual skills, including Spanish, are desirable.
Licensure & Credentialing The successful candidate must maintain all licenses, certifications, registrations, and clinical credentials required for the position, including: Washington State Nurse Practitioner license Washington State Registered Nurse license, as applicable to Washington State NP licensure requirements Appropriate DEA registration Current BLS certification Valid Washington State Driver's License and ability to meet organizational driving requirements when applicable Candidates must also complete required organizational, regulatory, clinical, and position-specific training within established timeframes.
