Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking to employ a Physician Assistant with first assist experience or a new candidate that recently completed PA training or a surgical residency.

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to work in a hospital-based operating room setting and function under the supervision of an attending physician.

  • First Assistant in Breast Surgery
  • Pre-op and Post-op surgical patients
  • History and Physicals on routine and emergent admissions
  • Perform surgical consultations

Skills/Requirements

  • 2 years of First Assist Surgical experience or new PA with surgical training or completion of a surgical residency
  • Excellent suturing technique
  • Comfortable working independently performing invasive procedures ie. incision and drainage of acute abscess, suture removal, and surgical drain removal
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic

Active Board PA Certification Required

New York State License Required

The Physician Assistant will serve as a first assistant in breast surgery and manage pre-operative and post-operative surgical patients. Responsibilities also include performing history and physical examinations for admissions and conducting surgical consultations.

Requirements

Candidates must possess 2 years of first assist surgical experience or have recently completed surgical training or a residency. An active Board PA Certification and a New York State License are required.
