Job description
We are seeking a Physical Therapist to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.
About the Role
The Physical Therapist will play an essential role in helping patients recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and improve their overall physical function and mobility. The Physical Therapist’s primary goal will be to develop and implement personalized treatment plans that promote rehabilitation and enhance patients' quality of life. The Physical Therapist will work closely with patients to assess their physical capabilities, identify limitations, and apply evidence-based therapeutic techniques to restore movement and reduce pain. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals will be essential to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes. Ultimately, the Physical Therapist’s expertise will empower patients to regain independence and return to their daily activities safely and effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
* Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
* Valid state license to practice physical therapy in the United States.
* Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology relevant to physical therapy.
* Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation and manual therapy techniques.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
Preferred Qualifications
* Certification in sports physical therapy or related specialty areas.
* Experience working with sports injuries and sports medicine patients.
* Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
* Additional training or certification in advanced manual therapy techniques.
* Experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough patient evaluations to assess physical abilities, limitations, and rehabilitation needs.
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments, medical history, and therapeutic goals.
* Apply manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to improve patient mobility and reduce pain.
* Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to ensure effective rehabilitation.
* Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and lifestyle modifications.
* Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
* Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
* Stay current with advancements in physical therapy practices and integrate new techniques into patient care.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree and a valid state license to practice in the United States. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and experience in orthopedic rehabilitation are required.
