Opportunity Information

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) seeks to hire a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Hematology/Oncology team in Jackson, CA!

Key Responsibilities

Work alongside a collaborative team of oncologists, hematologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, and support staff

Provide care in both outpatient clinic and inpatient consultative settings

Manage patients with a variety of oncologic and hematologic conditions, including solid tumors, anemia, thrombocytopenia, coagulopathies, and more

Participate in new patient consults, follow-up care, symptom management, treatment education, and survivorship planning

Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment tools and have access to clinical trials and research support through the Sutter Institute for Medical Research (SIMR)

Engage in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case discussions

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited NP or PA program with appropriate national certification (e. g., AANP, ANCC, NCCPA).

  • California licensure eligibility and clearances (NP/PA licensure required).
  • Exceptional communication skills, comfortable working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment including patient/family interactions.
  • Licensed and certified as a Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP, FNP) or Physician Assistant
  • National certification required (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in hematology/oncology or a related specialty strongly preferred

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is a vibrant and talented community committed to delivering safe, affordable and high-quality care. Our multi-specialty medical group is comprised of over 1,600 clinicians practicing in seven counties in northern California, most within a 50-mile radius of Sacramento.

The area offers an abundance of outdoor recreational activities including hiking, biking, fishing, camping, golf, white water rafting, and even underground cave tours.

Jackson is centrally located with easy access to the metropolitan and urban areas with a one-hour drive to Sacramento, a one-hour drive to Lake Tahoe, and a two-hour drive to San Francisco.
