University Medical Center New Orleans (UMC), the academic medical center for the Gulf South and a member of LCMC Health, is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hospitalist Physician to join our growing inpatient medicine team.

Position Highlights

• As a Hospitalist Physician, you will:
• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized adult patients
• Perform admissions, daily rounding, consultations, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with specialists and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Lead and participate in patient-centered care planning to optimize outcomes and patient experience
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic medical record
• Supervise and educate residents and medical students, as appropriate
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives
• Support the mission of advancing healthcare, education, and community service

Qualifications

• Education
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

Certifications & Licensure

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Eligible for unrestricted Louisiana medical licensure

Current DEA Registration or Ability to Obtain

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association.
