We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient mental health clinic. The PMHNP will provide high-quality psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and collaborative care for a diverse client population across the lifespan (or specify population). This role requires strong clinical judgment, patient-centered communication, and a commitment to reducing stigma and expanding access to mental health care within the community.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

· Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and risk assessments

· Diagnose mental health and behavioral health conditions

· Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and care teams

· Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications

· Provide medication education and supportive counseling

· Order and interpret labs or diagnostic tests as appropriate

· Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation

· Provide crisis intervention and safety planning when necessary

Collaboration & Coordination

· Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and medical providers

· Participate in interdisciplinary case consultations

· Coordinate referrals and continuity of care

· Communicate effectively with clients, families, and external providers

Compliance & Quality

· Adhere to clinic policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements

· Maintain HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality

· Support quality improvement initiatives and outcome tracking

· Participate in staff meetings and clinical supervision as required

Required Qualifications

· Active and unrestricted Florida APRN license

· Board Certification as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

· DEA registration and eligibility to prescribe controlled substances

· Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program

· Current BLS certification (if applicable)

· Experience with outpatient psychiatric care preferred

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience working in community mental health or integrated care

· Familiarity with diverse populations and trauma-informed approaches

· Comfort with Telehealth platforms and EMR systems

· Bilingual abilities preferred but not required

Requirements

Candidates must hold an active, unrestricted Florida APRN license and Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing and DEA registration are also required.
