What You’ll Do

As a Detention Counselor, you will work alongside the juvenile justice system, including courts, police, and service providers, to maintain a safe, secure environment for youth. Your work will be essential to a 24/7/365 operation, helping adolescents in temporary care navigate challenges and find a path forward.

What You Bring

* A minimum of 60 college credits required.

* Preferred experience in juvenile justice, congregate care, or youth-focused roles.

* Ability to pass a company-paid physical and obtain required clearances.

* Age 21 or Above, Current Driver's License,

Training Details

Our new hires participate in a two-week, daylight, paid training program. Once training and clearances are complete, you will transition to our Manor Detention facility in Ebensburg. At this point you will be added into the rotating shifts.

Physical and Safety Requirements

Because this role involves working with older and sometimes physically aggressive youth, candidates must be able to:

* Safely perform physical interventions and restraints with individuals who may weigh 200+ pounds, using approved techniques.

* Stand, walk, and respond quickly throughout the shift.

* Successfully complete and maintain certification in Adelphoi’s crisis intervention / restraint training and pass any required physical abilities assessment.
