Attend and participate in facility sponsored events and special functions as deemed appropriate by facility Administrator. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education programs, seminars, and training programs. Attend and participate in all required training programs upon hire and annually or as assigned thereafter. Recommend to the Department Director the equipment and supply needs of the Department and assist in the ordering and purchasing of equipment and supplies as necessary. Forecast the needs of the department, assist in preparing and planning the department’s budget for equipment, supplies, and labor, and submit recommendations to the Director of Community and Customer Relations. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to react calmly and professionally in complex or difficult situations. Ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions, delegate duties, and manage multiple objectives, projects, and deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with residents/patients, staff, family members, vendors, suppliers, and other contacts, both inside and outside the facility. Must exhibit patience and a positive attitude towards the elderly population and a desire to provide a service to the community. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Social Work or Human Services preferred. Three to five (3-5) years’ experience in Social Work in a long-term care or similar facility. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, bend, and reach for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds constantly (up to 100% of the time spent in performance of duties). Ability to determine by visual inspection and by smell if a hazardous condition exists. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires a satisfactory general background check, including state and local criminal history checks, as well as a satisfactory drug screening.
