Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Behavioral Health Urgent Care

- Job Type: Full-time
- Setting: Outpatient Mental Health Clinic / Behavioral Health Urgent Care
- Compensation: $80 – $90 per hour (based on experience)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Behavioral Health Urgent Care team. This role is ideal for a clinician who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment and is passionate about providing immediate, high-quality mental health care.
As a PMHNP, you will play a critical role in stabilizing patients in crisis, conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing medications, and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and risk evaluations
- Diagnose and treat a range of mental health and substance use disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
- Provide brief therapy, crisis intervention, and stabilization services
- Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and medical providers
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Coordinate referrals and transitions to appropriate levels of care
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)
- Active, unrestricted license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Board Certified PMHNP
- Minimum 3 years of psychiatric clinical experience; 4 years’ experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic, clinical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in urgent care, crisis response, or emergency psychiatry
- Experience serving diverse and underserved populations
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages)

Requirements
Candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing and an active, unrestricted PMHNP license with board certification. A minimum of 3 years of psychiatric clinical experience is required, with preference given to those with urgent care or crisis response backgrounds.
