Under physician direction, the Respiratory Therapist performs various treatments, therapies, and invasive/non-invasive procedures, while also clinically supervising and monitoring Respiratory Technicians. Therapists assist in transporting incubated patients, emphasizing airway maintenance, adequate ventilation, and oxygenation.
Required criteria include an Associate’s degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy, a current New York State Respiratory Therapist License, and current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS). Preferred candidates will have 1-2 years of hospital-based experience and pediatric experience, along with RRT and CRT certification.
