Licensed Professional Counselor – Newport News Flexible Full-Time Schedule Monday - Friday with Rotating Saturday or Tuesday - Saturday “Recovery Works gave me the strength to believe in myself again. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the clinical team in patient care decisions and attend all clinical meetings.
  • Assess counseling needs and conduct substance abuse evaluations using DSM criteria and ASAM guidelines.
  • Prepare and implement the counseling portion of the patient’s treatment plan.
  • Provide counseling services specified in the treatment plan, including individual counseling, group therapy, and family sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work from an accredited college or university (as required by Virginia regulations).
  • Minimum of three (3) years in substance use treatment, mental health counseling, or a related field.
  • Must hold licensure per 12VAC30
