Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner), PA (Physician's Assistant) Emergency Medicine

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality emergency care to patients of all ages in a fast‑paced ED environment.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and emergent conditions independently and collaboratively.

Perform procedures within scope (e. g., suturing, splinting, I&D, wound care, joint reductions depending on facility).

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal outcomes.

Document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: 9a-6p, 11a-9p, or 4p-12a
• Facility: 20 ED beds (16 main, 4 fast track)
• EMR: Epic
• Must be board-certified
• Paid travel & expenses

Qualifications

• Active NP or PA license with ability to practice in Massachusetts
• National certification (AANP/ANCC for NP; NCCPA for PA)
• Minimum 1–2 years of Emergency Medicine experience required
• Strong procedural skills and comfort managing high‑acuity patients
• Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
• Excellent communication, critical‑thinking, and teamwork abilities
