What We Need

Franciscan Physician Network is seeking a PRN Pre-Anesthesia Testing/Perioperative Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our team to meet the growing demands for services in Lafayette, Indiana. This position is based at Franciscan Health Lafayette East, joining a group of seasoned providers covering a broad range of patients. This is a high-performing, well-respected group with a great culture of teamwork that provides patient-centered care.

Ideal candidate will have a strong focus on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. Provider will work under the supervisor of the respective physician on duty. Candidate will display exceptional interpersonal skills and desire to develop strong ties with the community and existing medical staff. Provider will need to work collaboratively with all physicians and staff members and deliver the highest quality of patient care.

What You Can Expect

PRN Schedule

Perform patient interviewing & support decision-making process for pre-operative patients in PAT clinic in collaboration with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, nursing staff & primary surgeons

Communicate with surgeon or primary care physician any abnormality or recommendation for additional testing as deemed medically necessary prior to and/or after treatment

• Assess, plan & evaluate medical care in collaboration with anesthesiologist
• Perform physical examination & health history; order & review laboratory work, chest x-rays & ECG's & institute treatment for abnormalities in collaboration with responsible physician
• Prescribe medications during pre-operative phase in collaboration with responsible physician
• Act as liaison between primary physician, surgeon & anesthesiologist
