Overview
Bassett Healthcare Network, in central New York, is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Total Joint Surgeon to join our staff.
- Salary Range: $650,000 - $750,000
- Sign-on Bonus: up to $200,000
- Location: Cooperstown, NY
- Job Description & Responsibilities
The division is looking for a surgeon with fellowship training in total joint arthroplasty to support the focused service line for hip and knee replacement surgery. Bassett is committed to building a superior center for total joint replacement in the upstate New York region. The position does require participation in general call coverage
- Join an established group of Orthopedic Surgeons and Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC’s)
- Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region
Become a part of Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive academic health system and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
General Orthopedic Call Required 1:9 days - Dedicated Hospitalist for weekday coverage, shared call with whole Physician group – APC 1st call system in place
- Joint Replacement Center located at AO Fox Hospital, a 40-bed acute care hospital
- Referral Base of over 150 Primary Care Clinicians
- Full Support Staff including APC’s with Surgical Residents and Medical Student Interaction
- Visa Sponsorship
- MD, DO or MBBS
- BC/BE in Orthopedics
- Completion of an accredited USA orthopedic fellowship in total joint arthroplasty
- New York Medical License (or eligibility to obtain)
- BLS Certification Required
- Fellowship Trained
- DEA Required
Compensation
Salary Range: $650,000 - $750,000
This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards
Sign-on Bonus: up to $200,000
Bassett offers Physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap. Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment

Candidates must hold an MD, DO, or MBBS degree and be board certified or eligible in Orthopedics. A completed accredited USA orthopedic fellowship in total joint arthroplasty and a New York medical license are required.
