Overview

Bassett Healthcare Network, in central New York, is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our staff.

  • Salary Range: $588,390 - $690,684
  • Sign-on Bonus: up to $100,000
  • Location: Cooperstown, NY
  • Job Description & Responsibilities

Fellowship training encouraged but not a requirement. This surgeon would have access to an OR for urgent and “cold trauma’ cases in a room reserved for emergent surgery. There would also be time allotted for elective trauma reconstructive practice. There are separate call schedules for Spine and Hand. The practice covers one centrally located ER.

  • General Orthopedic Call with Orthopedic Hospitalist
  • Referral Base of over 150 Primary Care Clinicians
  • Dedicated OR Trauma Room
  • Full Support Staff including APC’s with Surgical Residents and Medical Student Interaction
  • Visa Sponsorship Available
  • MD, DO or MBBS
  • BC/BE in Orthopedics

Completion of an accredited USA residency in orthopedic surgery, successful completion of which results in board eligibility

  • New York Medical License (or eligibility to obtain)
  • BLS Certification Required
  • DEA Required

Compensation

Salary Range: $588,390 - $690,684

This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards

Sign-on Bonus: up to $100,000

Bassett offers Physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap. Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment

Key Responsibilities

The surgeon will perform urgent and elective trauma reconstructive surgeries while participating in the general orthopedic call schedule. They will work within an integrated health system alongside advanced practice clinicians, surgical residents, and medical students.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an MD, DO, or MBBS degree and be board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery. A New York medical license, BLS certification, and DEA registration are required for this position.
