Job Description

  • School Based/Outpatient Therapist, LPCC/LISW
  • Children's Advantage, Freedom St
  • Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week
  • $65,000-$75,000/Year

SUMMARY: The Outpatient Therapist provides high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services to individuals, families, and groups in an outpatient setting. The Therapist is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and delivery of therapeutic services in accordance with Ohio licensure laws, agency policies, and applicable state and federal regulations. Services are delivered using a person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approach.

SUPERVISOR: Clinical Supervisor or Designee

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and psychosocial assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy consistent with scope of practice and licensure.
  • Utilize evidence-based and best-practice therapeutic modalities appropriate to client needs (e. g., CBT, DBT, MI, trauma-informed care).
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with OMHAS, Medicaid, and agency standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and care coordination activities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external providers, referral sources, and community partners as needed to support continuity of care.
  • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and appropriate referrals for higher levels of care when clinically indicated.
  • Maintain ethical standards, professional boundaries, and client confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, when applicable.
  • Participate in required supervision, training, and continuing education activities.
  • Comply with all agency policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree - counseling or social work
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment models and recovery-oriented systems of care Reliable transportation
  • Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Medicaid billing and documentation requirements.
  • Preferred: Experience in integrated care, community mental health, or FQHC settings.

Licenses or Certifications Required

  • Unrestricted LPCC/LISW license to practice in the State of Ohio
  • Unrestricted State of Ohio driver’s license

Compliance

This position requires compliance with AFS’ written standards, including its Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.

Failure to comply with AFS’ Written Standards, which may include the failure to report any conduct or event that potentially violates legal or compliance requirements or AFS’ Written Standards or, for managers and supervisors, fails to detect non-compliant conduct where reasonable efforts would have resulted in detection, will be met by the enforcement of disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination, in accordance with AFS’ Compliance Program Policy and Procedure: Addressing Instances of Non-Compliance through Appropriate Disciplinary Actions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). The employee will occasionally be working near moving mechanical parts, be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and exposed to a risk of electrical shock while running the copier, printer, other standard equipment and answering the telephone. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Stress level can be high at times.
