The Occupational Therapist assesses patients to design and administer therapy programs that help individuals recover or maintain functional, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities. They also document patient progress, provide education, and collaborate with healthcare providers and families to improve functional outcomes.
Candidates must hold an appropriate education level and be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice. Certification through the NBCOT is preferred, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 60 days of employment.
