Key Responsibilities

• Ensures safe, appropriate, cost effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols: monitors drug therapy regiments for contraindications, drug

• drug interactions, drug

• formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic substitution protocols and promoting rational drug therapy selection.

Requirements

• Interprets department policies and procedures to personnel, patients/family members, etc., as necessary; assists in cost containment development of the department within budgeted parameters.

• Adheres to all Hospital Policies and Procedures, specifically Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct, Corporate Compliance, Diversity, and Confidentiality.

• Applies the principles and values of customer service and continuous quality improvement while performing day
