Job Description
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Uptown provides a wide range of medical and surgical services for to the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private Inpatient rooms, a full-service ED.
The hospital specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Uptown is searching to hire a Part Time Pharmacist with flexibility to work from 2p - 10p with call responsibility one week per month.
Job Summary
- The Staff Pharmacist reviews, interprets and evaluates physician orders for appropriateness against the available patient information and current therapy in regard to allergies potential drug interactions, etc. -
- Dispenses medications in accordance with federal, state regulations and hospital policies.
- Provides direct supervision of Pharmacy Technician(s) performing support functions.
Key Responsibilities
The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and evaluating physician orders for appropriateness concerning patient information and current therapy, including allergies and potential drug interactions. This role also involves dispensing medications according to regulations and policies, and providing direct supervision to Pharmacy Technician(s).
Requirements
Candidates must possess an active pharmacist registration issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and a Certificate in sterile compounding. Required experience includes two years in hospital pharmacy, along with demonstrated knowledge of patient development needs across all age groups and familiarity with Joint Commission and CMS standards.
