The Oncology Nurse Navigator is a professional registered nurse with oncology knowledge who provides individualized support to patients and caregivers to overcome healthcare system barriers. Using the nursing process, this role promotes informed decision-making, timely access to care, and serves as a key liaison among multidisciplinary providers.

Job Description
The position will:
- Improve timely access to specialty oncology care
- Reduces friction at high‑risk transition points
- Optimize capacity, scheduling accuracy, and throughput
- Advance standardization, equity, and patient‑centered access
- Improves patient and provider satisfaction around oncology access
Training and Education
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of three years related clinical nursing experience required; oncology nursing experience preferred. Master of Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in lieu of BSN.
In addition, the applicant must have considerable knowledge of complex medical terminology and advanced disease processes, strong interpersonal skills, ability to delegate to appropriate personnel, ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships both internally and externally, strong organizational skills, ability to rapidly prioritize/reprioritize, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work autonomously and in teams, critical-thinking skills, and ability to multi-task.
Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare.
