The Substance Use Disorder Counselor provides supportive counseling, education, and intervention services to patients within a correctional facility. They collaborate with medical and mental health staff to develop recovery goals, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with safety and healthcare regulations.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a valid state licensure or certification relevant to the role and possess at least a high school diploma or GED. A bachelor's degree in a related field and 1-2 years of experience in substance abuse counseling are preferred.
