Day in The Life of a Part-time Nurse Practitioner
The Crossroads team is made up of passionate individuals dedicated to fighting substance use disorders and saving lives. Our teammates’ diverse backgrounds and experience are valuable assets in our mission to help patients build better lives in recovery.
- Some Responsibilities include
- Evaluate and manage patients with opioid use disorder in our outpatient clinic settings
- Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments as indicated by patient assessment
- Complete medical documentation per Crossroads standards
Collaborate with clinic staff to provide holistic care to patients, including referrals to other medical providers and community services
- Will perform injections.
- Schedule & Locations
- Primary center: Suffolk OTP
- Target weekly hours: 10 hours weekly
- Proposed schedule: 2 days a week: 5am-10am
- Education and Licensure Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner with an active, unrestricted licensure and authorized to practice in the state of practice
Primary specialty in one of the following: Family Medicine/Family Practice, Internal Medicine, General Practice, Psychiatry
- DEA Certificate of Registration in the state of practice with ability to schedule 2, 2N, 3, 4, & 5
- Must have or be eligible for enrollment for Medicaid and Medicare credentials
- Additional education or certification may be required depending on state of practice.
Preferred Experience
Experience in addiction medicine, preferably with experience treating patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and/or providing medication for opioid use disorder

Key Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate and manage patients with opioid use disorder in an outpatient clinic setting. Responsibilities include prescribing appropriate medications, performing injections, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Requirements
Candidates must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner with a primary specialty in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Practice, or Psychiatry. A valid DEA certificate and eligibility for Medicaid/Medicare credentialing are required.
